Unfortunately, Da Hukilau Bar & Grill in San Francisco has lost its lease and will be saying Aloha (“goodbye”) to the infamous corner of Geary and Masonic and A Hui Hou Kakou (“until we meet again”) to you, our Ohana. Our doors will close Monday, April 30th, 2012, and will have officially “Gone Surfing” until our next location opens (which we hope will be before the end of this year). Serving ALOHA for over 11 years, Da Hukilau has been a staple of San Francisco in providing tasty island cuisine and Aloha Spirits to the Bay Area ranging from our fellow neighbors and businesses, to USF alumni and students, to those traveling the city from all areas in search for good, traditional Island Soul Food. We are deeply grateful to you, our Ohana, who have made us homesick island guys not feel so far from our warm sandy beaches of Hawai’i. We will have a few A Hui Hou Hukilau events through the end of April. This building we occupied for the past 11 years has a rich history and has been considered a national landmark dating all the way back to the days of the prohibition. Up until today, we called it our "home away from home". A place where island locals, as well as bay area natives, had a place to go that gave them a spirit of "Aloha" that can only be found on the islands of Hawai'i. Over the years, we’ve strived to keep Hawaiian tradition and culture alive through our food and strongly believed that we have achieved this through the years and hope to continue this at our next location. We hope that all of you, as well as our NEW neighbors, will welcome us into your hearts and appetites as we bring Aloha to a neighborhood near you soon! We ask that you stay in contact with us through our website and email so that we may notify you all of our NEW location as we would love to invite you to our GRAND Re-Opening! But until then... A HUI HOU KAKOU…..until we meet again. Meanwhile, please continue to visit our sister restaurant Hukilau San Jose, and if in Hawai'i, Hukilau Honolulu.
Aloha! Join our Email list for future notices of when we'll be back serving your Hawaiian kine soul food.
